It is not the right treatment where the concern is a double chin caused by fat or by skin laxity beneath the jaw, which is a different question entirely. It is also not appropriate where dental or skeletal alignment is the underlying cause, in which case Dr Sateei may recommend an orthodontic or maxillofacial opinion rather than filler.

Treatment takes around 30 minutes. Numbing cream is applied and most products contain lidocaine, so discomfort is generally mild. Most patients return to normal activities immediately.
